We are proposing a housing unit designed to keep a good balance between our brain and body,as shown in this elevation.

The housing unit only accommodates one person in a physical sense,but the built-in computer,once connected to the brain of the occupant,allows entry into an unlimited stretch of the cyber space.

In cyber space,brain activities which usually take place on daily basis will be done through a virtual reality image.

This drawing shows slices of the circularly cut housing unit.
You can say it is a kind of CT scan of the residence for visual reference.
The area on the left belongs to the system of nature,and the right hand side is the system of the brain. A person entering from the left gradually stoops himself into one lump to fit into the tank at the far end in order to free his mind of his body.

In the tank,his brain is linked to the computer. He then forgets having a body and spends time as a brain existence in the computer world. This cyber space is composed of brains of numerous people and designed only for the benefit of people.

Social life is conducted through virtual reality. Just like the "present" reality, this world has three-dimensional offices,shopping centers,movie theaters,museums,etc;a product of electronic information. Residents of this cyber city enter capsules in housing units, work at an office and enjoy urban life according to the time table of the city.(Energy spent by human activities in this world is electric power, which is supplied by solar power generation.)

　After the lapse of a certain time,the resident comes out of the capsule at the request of his body. As he steps out of the capsule into the natural system outside the housing unit,he spreads his arms as if flapping wings to recover the body he has forgotten in the capsule. Then he mingles with nature. 　

We would live at the of our body in a world based on the system of nature. To help it, a facility called hospice is made available. The facility comprises various services,such as accommodations,dining facilities,hospitals and nurseries, which our body depends upon. Stringent health control is provided to protect the brain.

　A graveyard is also necessary around the hospice. "Death" must be nearby so that we will not forget the body.

　Housing units cannot serve the purpose solely As they will depend on a hospice sooner or later,housing units will be clustered around the hospice.

Fertile natural environment spreads around the residences,providing us with varied benefits. Hobbies and jobs based on such a natural environment are developed and made available. People may hop around to hospices in various places according to the needs of their hobby or job.
